Indoor Small Arms Range
Buckley Air Force Base, CO
This project provided a small arms training for Buckley Air Force Base security forces. The facility replaced an inadequate existing ca 1980s firing range with a new 14-lane range. The facility provided a combination of live fire training and classroom training for up to 28 students, plus simulated live fire scenario training, and administrative and instructor support.
Range operation was controlled from an elevated range control booth at the east end of the range. Storage for range supplies (e.g. targets and backers) was provided in an attached storage room. The facility also included a Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Facility (CTM). The CTM component included a classroom, simulator room for scenario training, instructor offices, an alarmed weapons and ammunition storage vault, and an arms issue room. Also included were standard utility spaces – mechanical room, electrical room, toilets, shower, laundry, and janitor’s closet.
