The City of Wilmington Police and Fire Departments partnered with Clark Nexsen’s Public Safety Team to design a multifunctional training facility and administrative offices. The Haynes/Lacewell Police and Fire Training Facility includes a 10-lane tactical “walk-down” 100 yard range with multiple firing positions, a 360° use of force simulator, a driving simulator, flexible classrooms, canine training facilities, an advanced Fireground Command Simulator, and associated locker rooms, support and administrative spaces.

Projected for completion in late autumn of 2019, the 31,000 square foot facility is on schedule with precast exterior walls erected for both the range and administration building portion of the building. Dry-in is scheduled for early June which will launch a fast-paced interior fit-out. Extensive site clearing for the 1-acre canine training field has also been completed. Clark Nexsen has accommodated an aggressively paced review process to support the schedule.

Both the Police and Fire Departments are enthusiastically engaged in the construction with their expertise and as liaisons with the City of Wilmington and the contractor to ensure the project is executed seamlessly and on time.
